SriLankan Airlines has a small fleet of over 20 aircraft: twelve A330s for long-haul flights and a dozen A320s and A321s for medium and short-haul routes.
Sri Lanka’s logo has two colors of blue, orange, red and green. These colors come first when entering the business class cabin. Passengers will see walls and seats with designs of the diversity and beauty of Sri Lanka’s flora and fauna.
The A330-300s are the last long-haul aircraft in the SriLankan Airlines fleet. They offer 28 leather seats in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone configuration, providing direct access to the aisle for all passengers and good privacy. The trays are 78 inches (198 centimeters) long and 47 inches (119 centimeters) apart. They are equipped with a power outlet, USB charger, hook, magazine and personal storage space. A mattress pad or seat can be a great accessory because it can be very warm to sleep on the skin. There are also 10 changing mood lighting settings, based on sunrise and sunset in Sri Lanka. A pleasant surprise are the starry sky ceiling panels that light up when the cabin lights are turned off and create a “higher ceiling” feeling.

Single passengers choose the window seats while couples choose the middle seats. The challenge with reverse chevron configurations, however, is that passengers sitting in the middle seats have to lean forward to speak. If you’re sitting in the middle seats next to a stranger, privacy is a plus.
The older A330-200 offers 18 Business Class lie-flat seats in a traditional forward-facing 2-2-2 configuration with a seat pitch of 77″-79″ (196-201 centimeters ). There is also a power outlet and USB charging at each seat. The seat is not the most comfortable in the sky and there is no privacy, but even the tallest passenger can stretch their legs.
Before your meal begins, you can choose between a drink and a bowl of hot cashews. After perusing the menu, take your pick as the delicious aroma of Sri Lankan cuisine wafts through the cabin.
Passengers have four meal options and always include a Sri Lankan meal on flights departing from Colombo. Offered as a breakfast option on many flights, Kiribath (rice pudding) is a favorite among all airline passengers. In addition to Sri Lankan dishes, other food options are tailored to the region in question and the profile of the passenger.

There are many options including meat, fish and vegetarian. Be careful, the dishes can be very spicy so prepare a big glass of water if possible! Portions are generous and trays of food are delivered individually, all carefully laid out.
If a second meal is served on long flights, it is preserved with all the dishes on a tray wrapped in cloth as a faster service, similar to what many airlines do.
The signature champagne offered for business class is Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée Brut. Champagne is served at your seat before take-off and can be used for free throughout the flight. Bottled water is provided at each seat and refilled when the crew realizes it is low.
Sri Lankan Business Class Review
The Sri Lankan female cabin crew wear beautiful Osariya uniforms, decorated with peacock print. No request is too big or too small. The SriLankans realize that their fleet may not be the biggest in the sky, but they make up for it with great service. Passengers are left alone when they clearly need some privacy, but there is always a crew member walking up and down the aisle to check if you need anything or anything.
The crew, of course, is diverse. They all speak perfect English and are clearly well trained. Every now and then you see beautiful sparks of individuality.
