American Airlines is unique in offering three-class service in the United States. The carrier’s A321T aircraft has a total of 102 seats, including 10 first class, 20 business class and 72 economy class.

There are 10 reclining seats in first class, which are common seats in international business class. They are private and all have direct aisle access, a rarity on domestic flights.

Although the American cuisine is nothing special, I appreciate that the airline has Viasat’s high-speed Wi-Fi. I don’t think American has the best flight product, but the reason I put American on top is the amazing experience on the ground.

When you fly first class on the American Airlines A321T, you have access to JFK’s Chelsea Lounge, which offers seated dining, a champagne bar and a chill-out area. It’s truly unlike anything American Airlines has ever offered. I wouldn’t have prioritized experience if it wasn’t for the great on-the-job experience.

Business Class Flights

The American Airlines A321T flies regularly from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO) and Santa Ana (SNA).

If you can find the availability of financial rewards, you can book an A321T flight for as little as 50,000 US AAdvantage miles (and redeem partner miles). Unfortunately, earning savings level rewards can be difficult, in which case American may end up with a more expensive reward.

Another option is to book business class with cash when the price is right, then confirm an upgrade to first class with BXP1 through American Business Extra.

In terms of pure flight experience, JetBlue Mint is my favorite way to fly domestically. From seats to food and service to free Wi-Fi, the airline has truly revolutionized premium domestic travel.

The 10 Best Domestic First And Business Class Airlines [2023]

There are currently two versions of the Mint – there is a “classic” 16-seater version. It consists of three rows of “Mint Suites” in a 2-2 configuration and two rows of “Mint Suites” in a 1-1 configuration. Mint suites even have doors.

Then there is a new version with seats in a 1-1 configuration with doors for all business class passengers. The product is used on some domestic frequencies, but primarily on the carrier’s transatlantic flights.

JetBlue’s onboard offers are fantastic. The airline offers fast, free Wi-Fi, and in my opinion, JetBlue is the only US airline that consistently delivers great food and friendly service in business class.

The only reason I wouldn’t recommend JetBlue Mint in the first place is that the airline doesn’t offer lounge access, so there’s a lack of on-the-ground experience.

American Airlines To Launch Seasonal Nonstop Saturday Flights Between Key West And Boston

JetBlue Mint primarily operates premium transcontinental routes including Boston (BOS), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), and New York (JFK), as well as numerous destinations to Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), San Diego (SAN) . ) and Seattle (WED). Exact routes vary by season.

JetBlue has a revenue-based frequent flyer program, so you can redeem JetBlue TrueBlue points based on the cost of your flight, but prices vary. Additionally, you can redeem US AAdvantage miles with JetBlue Mint, typically 65,000 AAdvantage miles per trip.

United has completed installation of the new Polaris Business Class seat on all 787, 777 and 767 aircraft, most of which serve domestic routes. In particular, lot 787 operates on domestic flights and United has excellent nonstop seating.

Unfortunately, even on the premium transcontinental route, United’s soft product isn’t that great. Access to United lounges is “only” available to passengers on premium domestic routes, which is not comparable to access to flagship lounges offered by American Airlines. Additionally, United’s Wi-Fi leaves something to be desired.

Is First Class Worth The Additional Cost?

United typically flies Boeing 787s from Newark (EWR) to Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO). In these markets you will also occasionally see a 777 with the new Polaris seats.

Unfortunately, United offers very few economy class award seats on these premium transcontinental routes. Generally, your best bet is to find discounted business class tickets and redeem your transferable points for the cost of the flight.

American Airlines uses Boeing 777s on many domestic routes, but not always 100% consistently. That’s why I focus on American Airlines flights from Dallas to Hawaii, which are regularly operated by 777 or 787 aircraft, and the product is excellent.

Business class on most US 777s has reclining bucket seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. They also have wifi that crosses the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii.

Transcontinental Us Flat Bed Business Class Flights

Passengers flying nonstop from Dallas to Hawaii in U.S. Business Class also have access to the DFW U.S. Flagship Lounge, which is more than you can get when flying to Hawaii on other U.S. airlines.

American Airlines flies regularly between Dallas (DFW) and Hawaii using Boeing 777s. However, you can find them on many other domestic routes, especially those departing from Miami.

American Airlines is offering a bonus room in premium class in business class to Hawaii. If available, you can pay up to 62,500 AAdvantage miles per ride. However, in some cases, you can find network-specific rewards at lower prices.

The only jumbo jet that Delta regularly schedules for domestic flights is the Boeing 767-300. While Delta sometimes operates the A330 and A350 on domestic routes, as far as I know it does not operate on any route regularly or year-round (someone please correct me if I’m deceived).

Flight Review: Aer Lingus Business Class, Dublin To Boston

The advantage is that every seat on Delta’s 767 has direct access. Unfortunately, Delta’s 767 business class is also restricted and many people will be crammed into these seats. Also the entertainment screen is small, not a very modern aircraft.

Delta generally has friendly service, decent food, and reliable Wi-Fi, so the sweet deals are great. Passengers on premium transcontinental routes also have access to the Delta Sky Club, which is great for domestic flights but otherwise not globally competitive.

Delta regularly flies the 767 on premium transcontinental routes from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO). The airline also regularly operates other routes from Atlanta (ATL) to Los Angeles (LAX) and Atlanta (ATL) to Honolulu (HNL).

Delta SkyMiles generally only charges what it wants to charge for rewards, so don’t expect redemption offers.

The Hawaiian Airlines A330 is equipped with first class with fully reclining seats. This includes 18 seats in a 2-2-2 configuration. To be honest, these places are not very comfortable, because I find it difficult. But they are still good addresses.

Unfortunately, Hawaiian does not provide lounge access on domestic flights, nor WiFi. The good news is that the airline has friendly service and I enjoyed the food and drink. After all, there is always something fun to do in Hawaii.
