From the first contact call, to meeting the nurse, to the nurse, the relief we all felt with the uncertainty of how we were going to care for Mom at home in a palliative care setting was a survey. How the whole process is explained, questions are always answered and the lines of communication are always open. When mom comes home, the Himeinstead nurse is there with the Hospice nurse to help coordinate her transition. I could see that my mother was in good hands. CNA is very professional. I had the pleasure of working with Home and Hearth for 7 months. My mother was diagnosed with mild Alzheimer’s disease and was no longer fit to drive. We met Teresa who was very knowledgeable, professional and patient with all our questions. She explained all the services and care that H&H offers, so we started with simple driving assistance to take my mom to work out at Curves 3 times a week. Teresa contacted us with an AWESOME babysitter, Kortney!. He was more than a driver, he immediately bonded with my mother because of his warm and comfortable personality. Then… an epidemic hits and the gym is closed. Once she was safe, Kortney came just to be with my mom. He does puzzles, exercises, walks and just talks and makes mom feel good during hard times. He is always volunteering for more, such as housework, bathing, etc., but these services are not yet needed. My mom, who moved to Virginia to live with my sister, will miss Kortney very much. The good news is that he is ready to make a difference in the lives of others. We can’t thank Teresa and Kortney enough for making a difficult decision so easy and the right one!!!! (read less)
