How To Think Like God – “Because you have heard of Jesus and have learned the truth from him, put away your old sinful nature and your old way of life, which is corrupted by greed and deceit. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes to put on your new nature, made like God—truly righteous and holy” (Ephesians 4:21-24 NLT).
Changing Your Life Requires New Thinking The battle to change unhealthy habits in your life is always a mental battle. It begins in the mind, and is won or lost there.
How To Think Like God
(NLT) You will not change until your thoughts and attitudes change, so daily quiet time is very important. Spending time in deliberate study and prayer of God’s word is a spiritual renewal of your mind. If you don’t, you don’t have the power to change
When It Feels Like God Has Forgotten You
Do you know the theological term for “change of mind”? This is “repentance”. To repent literally means to change one’s mind
It means changing your mind – from death to life, from sin to forgiveness, from guilt to peace of mind, from hell to heaven, from the way to God. The most positive change in your life will come when you repent of your sins and turn from remorse to peace of mind and forgiveness.
You have to learn to think about your unhealthy habits in new ways. For example, these practices are often an abuse of power. This is a new thought that you may never have thought of, but sorry! It is a change of heart. Your bad habits often abuse God-given power
God wants you to learn to think like Jesus, how do you do that? Again, it’s a choice. You have to make a choice and say, “Lord, how would Jesus feel about that?” The more you focus on God’s Word, the easier it becomes. I have long been fascinated by Philippians 3 (even wrote a whole post about it). Here Paul talks about conversion, religious status, good background, good education, zeal for his faith, and then says that all his “human merits” are nothing. In fact, he called them “like dung!” To know and be found in Christ is more valuable, for Paul is not righteous by keeping the covenant, but has “a righteousness from God which is truly based on the faithfulness of Christ”. And then with all that background, he talks about how he strives to live a godly life and will continue to do so until the end of his life in the hope of achieving “the resurrection of the dead” (Philippians 3:5-12), NET).

Paul addresses a controversial issue in the church by telling the Filipinos to “beware of dogs” (false teachers, see NET footnote), “beware of evildoers, beware of those who change the flesh” (which methodically teaches physical circumcision) and trust those who have “no human credentials”. ” (Phil.::-4-,, NET). So Paul brings his credentials. He does not attack these other teachers and their credentials mean nothing because Paul has none and wants to. Likes himself but has credentials and still says they are worthless because “people can manufacture credentials.
Which pleases God” (NET footnote on v. 15). With this foundation, Paul says what I want to focus on today
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself an achievement, but I strive with one mind for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus: to forget what lies behind and reach for what lies ahead. So let those of us who are “perfect” see that if you believe otherwise, God will show you the error of your ways. 13-16, NET
Often, when we disagree with someone in the church, we instinctively want to defend our point of view. But what Paul is pointing out is that our first response should be to ask God to reveal our mind.
Tony Robbins: Why We Do What We Do
One of the main goals of our Christian walk is to learn to think like God. He fills us with His Spirit to change us and make us part of His family. May we know (1 Corinthians 12:11, NET)
An unbeliever does not receive the words of God’s Spirit, because they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. Will not because who knows the Lord’s mind to teach him? But we have Christ in 1 Cor. 2:14-16, quoted by Isaiah 40:13, NET
We must “arm ourselves with the same mind” through Christ, so that we may live “for the will of God” (1 Peter 1:1-2, WEB). Part of “God’s will” is to live in harmony with our brothers and sisters as we strive to think like Christ.
Now the God of steadfastness and zeal grant you to be in one spirit with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one mouth you may praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore receive one another, as Christ received you, to the glory of God Rom 15:5-7, Web
Teach Him To Think For Himself? Oh, My God, Teach Him Rather To Think Like Other People!
When the Scriptures say that Christians should be of the same mind, it does not mean that we should agree on what we want. It comes from the fact that we all have our thoughts in the mind of Christ “We have the mind of Christ” The verse I quoted earlier from Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians has already been mentioned:
Brothers and sisters, I ask you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to come together, put an end to your divisions and agree and agree 1 Cor. 1:10, NET
Paul talks about how ridiculous it is to divide the church that teachers should follow (1 Cor 17-17), that there is no place for men to boast before God (1 Cor 18-18-31), that our faith is based on the wisdom of God, and by his Spirit we have the mind of Jesus (1 Corinthians 2:1-16). It has some parallels with Philippians 3, where Paul talks about the futility of human characteristics and then calls for continued faithfulness, including living at peace with your brothers.
There is a well-known refrain in Paul’s letter “Be united to one another” (Romans 1:15). “Be of the same mind … in unity with the Spirit” (Philippians 2: “Be of the same mind, be at peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you” (2 Corinthians 11:11). The more we become like God, the less we should be at odds with others who also become like God.
Think, Speak And Act Like God Is Always In Front Of You. Because He Is!
The principle we are discussing is basically simple: have the mind of Christ and you will all be one. In practice, we are all at different stages of development. is not fully understood, and we do not always agree with what seems to be in his mind. Back to Philippians 3,
So let those of us who are “perfect” have the mindset that if you believe otherwise, God will show you the error of your ways. 15-16, NET Let’s think this way, as perfectly as possible. If you believe otherwise, God will reveal it to you. But in so far as we have already accomplished, let us proceed by the same rules. Decide File. 3:15-16, Web
When we disagree, we can ask God to reveal His mind and connect us to the truth. When looking for like-minded people like this, always seek God’s perspective so you can understand what He wants you to see. Human teachings or teachers will not help you understand. Our goal for spiritual growth is to become like our father. Unity with other believers happens as a consequence of that goal, not as a central goal.
Paul has already exhorted us to “hold to” or “walk in” the standard. This fits with verses such as James which says that if you know how to do good and do not do it, it is sin for you (James 17:17) and the passage in Romans which shows that we are judged based on how good we are. Do God’s will instead of how well we understand the law (Romans 2:16-16). Although we may not always agree with other Christians about the best way to follow God, we must live in peace.
