Macy's Santa Clara Valley Fair – Target is expanding its Disney Store to more than 160 locations in time for Christmas.

Target plans to open more than 100 Disney stores in its stores, Walt Disney Co. it has nearly 60 full-service retail locations nationwide. The company has updated its store locator tool to identify stores closing on or before September 15.

In March, Disney announced that it would be closing at least 60 Disney Stores in North America. About 40 stores were included in the first closure.

“As consumer behavior shifts toward online shopping, the global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from retailers,” Stephanie Yang, president of consumer products, gaming and publishing, said at the time.

After the final closing, about a dozen stores will remain. The closures affect more than 600 stores at Disney theme parks and other locations, including smaller Disney stores within Target stores.

“In recent years, we’ve focused on meeting consumers where they spend time, such as the expansion of Disney Store stores around the world,” Yang said. “Now, we are committed to creating a more flexible and connected e-commerce experience for consumers to easily access exclusive, high-quality products through our franchises.

Disney officials did not provide an official list of closings or a new statement, and asked people in the US to use the store locator tool on their website to find stores closed today.
