Pronounced “ah-sigh-ee” – acai is a small purple fruit. It comes from its palm tree, found in Central and South America, and tastes like a combination of berries and chocolate. Akai fruit contains antioxidants and many benefits for the body! Fruits are often high in sugar and low in fat, but the acai avocado is actually high in fat and low in sugar, just one more reason to love this fruit!
Acai bowls are as simple as mixing a few ingredients together, pouring them into a bowl and adding the ingredients you’ve added.
Strawberry Acai Smoothie Bowl
You can honestly make an acai bowl every day and put it in different options – it’s so different! Here are some tips for adding to your plate!
Packed in a glass jar, a bowl of acai (shake food) will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. I definitely don’t recommend keeping all the dishes because it will get moldy!
Freezing an acai bowl is a great idea! Whether it’s leftovers or pre-set, freezing your dishes is especially helpful. All you have to do is fill a glass jar about half full with acai smoothie, put a lid on it and put it in the fridge. After eating, remove from the refrigerator to thaw overnight in the refrigerator and add topping the next day after eating. !
Store in a well-ventilated container or jar, the acacia mixture will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.

Believe it or not, it will cost you over $12 to $15 per dish, so making them at home is a cheaper option and tastes great!
I have never gotten an aka plate and wondered what an aka is? Asai leno is a small round purple-black berry that grows in rainforests on various palm trees. They are native to Brazil, Peru, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.
You won’t find acai avocado imported from other countries, but you can find acai in powder form. Frozen or dry powder.
Acai Smoothie Bowl
You might think it tastes like blueberries or grapes because of its similar appearance, but I think they have their own taste, like a mixture of pomegranates or raspberries meeting beets.
The only “special” ingredient needed to make acai foods at home is the acai itself. Otherwise, you can whip up a healthy acai bowl with ingredients you already have in your pantry!
I always buy it at Target, but there is a list of distributors on this page (“Pure Unsweetened Super Fruits Cases, 4pk” checkbox). It usually costs about $6 for a 4 pack but I fill it up when it goes on sale.
I like to use homemade granola recipes for these smoothie dishes (no butter or oil here!) If I use store bought granola, I like it.

If you can make a smoothie at home, then you can make an acai berry dish. I’ve included two methods for making homemade acai dishes – one using a blender and the other using a food processor.
I know acai is expensive plus a lot of time lately I want to make enough for my family of 4 so I want to expand this recipe. To do this, use 2 bananas, 1 cup of blueberries, 2 bags of acai juice as needed (the blender may need about 1 cup, the food processor only needs 1/2 cup).
I use apple juice, grape juice or fruit mix. Be sure to use 100% fruit juice with no added sugar.
Absolutely! Feel free to modify this recipe as you see fit. I like to use blueberries, but feel free to experiment with other types of frozen fruit.
