With December right around the corner, you know what that means… it’s time to order your Christmas cards! Every year I order my family’s Christmas cards through Shutterfly because they have a large selection and I’m always happy with the backgrounds, colors, and options. Their website is user friendly and you can have the perfect photo card in minutes.
If you are not familiar with Shutterfly, let me explain. Shutterfly is an online photography and personalization company that I have used for over 12 years. Let’s just say I’m a huge Shutterfly fan! Every November, with the click of a button, I upload my family photos to their website and create a unique and special Christmas card to send to my family and friends.

Not only is the selection amazing, but so are the prices. Shutterfly always offers amazing discount codes and you get the most out of it when you order online with them. (There are amazing Shutterfly deals at the end of this post – welcome!)
When you create your card online with Shutterfly, they make it easy by having everything you need in one stationery section – cards and letters. From there you can start by choosing what size and style of card you want printed: flat, folded, 3/4 length, tri-fold or photo pop-up card. Sizes range from 4×8, 5×5, 5×7, 6×8. Your next choice is the type of paper: index cards, photo paper, or glossy pearl card. The cutting options are: square, round, cover, card and curved edges. Each variation gives your card a unique and unique look and ensures that no one else has your exact card.
Then enjoy reading their hundreds of cards. Their selection is well-organized, so it’s easy to narrow down your choices by color, feel, theme, style, number of images, foil stamping, gloss, price, and design. You can even “set” your favorite cards so you can browse a small selection of options that you like. Technology is amazing! One of my favorite new features that Shutterfly offers is the ability to upload your photo and see it in all the card options when browsing using My Photo; What an amazing choice and the best way to choose between options!
Every year we mix it up with our Christmas card designs, so this year I decided to go with a 3/4 card. I love this option because it has 4 sides, which allows for multiple images, different font options, and other text settings to be separate from our Christmas card. The card I chose was a wreath Christmas card. What can I say, I love the look of wood these days. I also chose to print the card for the Shutterfly signature card, I wanted to keep it simple.

After creating the card, before you print, you also have the option to choose the envelope and envelope of your choice from the holiday card suites. For a small additional fee, you can get creative with your envelope and choose a different color and optional envelope coating. This is my favorite part of the card making process because I love “happy mail”. When you send a card in the mail, the first thing the recipient notices is the envelope, so I like to set the scene by sending my cards in colorful and creative packaging. It has to be an event planner for me.
I chose a red envelope to match the color scheme of my card and with the same wood grain. You can’t miss my card when it shows up in your mailbox this year!
But, the fun doesn’t end there. You also have the option to create a custom address sticker or print your own return address on the envelopes. It’s very helpful, just one less step to worry about. If you’re organized, you can also print the recipients’ entire address on personalized Shutterfly envelopes! You name it, they’ve got you covered!
I chose to print matching address labels in the same tree theme as the wreath hanger. Unfortunately, I’m not organized enough to get Shutterfly to print their hosts’ addresses on their envelopes, but that’s the part I’ll be working on next year! What a time saver!

As I mentioned before, I love all things creative, so I found out that you can print custom envelope stamps as well as your own card stamps at Shutterfly. I was able to choose a beautiful stamp set called Crafted With Love Stickers to match the theme of my cards, as well as individual postage stamps called Mod Merry Tree Personalized Stamps. Now I never run out of stamps and they are better than any other option you can buy! You can even print a photo that you both like!
I love that I didn’t have to leave my house to print all the necessary parts for my Christmas cards this year. Everything was there and done in the comfort of my own home thanks to Shutterfly!

Shutterfly is one of the best photo card sites for those who want to add some sentiment or personalization when giving gifts. It offers a long list of products to help you create memories, including photo cards.
There’s no denying it, Shutterfly is one of the most expensive ticket sites we’ve tested. We tested 5×7 cards that were folded in three pictures and were not included in our tests, and Shutterfly charged $2.79 for one card, $41.85 for 15 cards, and $273 for 3 cards.
Many websites offer big savings on large orders – the best order of 100 cards from Zazzle was 40% off, but Shutterfly only offered 10% off for this large order of cards. However, the saving grace of Shutterfly’s prices is the cheap shipping, which was only $10.95 on our total order. Additionally, we haven’t seen taxes added to the advertised prices, which makes Shutterfly cheaper than it initially appears.
At the time of our review, Shutterfly was offering 50% off all tickets, but we didn’t include temporary discounts in our price checks so they wouldn’t show up in the results. The 50% savings is one of the best deals we’ve seen, although great deals and coupon codes are common for photo cards, so we don’t expect you to pay full price for these cards very often.

Although this photo card service doesn’t have the features and tools that other services offer, it can help you create beautiful photo cards that you, your family, and friends will love.
This custom photo card service has many features that make the design and ordering process seamless. When designing your card, the photo quality feature takes care of the resolution of your image. If the resolution is too high or too low for the card, the photo editor will let you know. This will prevent your image from becoming blurry or pixelated when printed.
