Dr. Thomas W. Barclay Jr. has contributed to the provision of national and international continuing education for nurses. He is president of Barkley & Associates, Inc. and Professor Emeritus at the Patricia A. Chin School of Nursing at California State University, Los Angeles. During his 26 years in academia, Dr. Barclay has held many leadership positions: Adult Gerontology Nursing Program Coordinator, Nursing Program Director, Nursing Program Director, and Master’s Degree Program Director.

Barkley earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama, a Master of Science in Critical Care Nursing from the University of Virginia, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing with a specialization in Nursing Education and Administration in Nursing Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed her post master’s training as a primary care nurse and acute care nurse from the University of South Alabama.
